PAX Stretcher Pad – Universal – Temperature Management

The PAX Stretcher Pad – TMS – Universal has been developed to make the patient’s positioning as comfortable as possible during care and transport.

It is secured to wheeled stretchers, vacuum mattresses, basket stretchers or other transport and positioning systems and held in place by the patient restraint system.

A PAX TMS Power Pack and the PAX TMS 220V charger are required for the correct operation of the PAX Stretcher Pad.

The heating system can be switched on well before reaching the scene and offers a pleasant added benefit, not only during the colder months.

Body temperature is one of the most fundamental vital signs of our organism. When the patient is positioned on the pre-warmed, heatable PAX stretcher pad – TMS – universal, they immediately feel the pleasant warmth. The aim is to effectively provide the patient with warmth through active pre-warming or immediate heating of the pad.

An efficient supply of heat enhances the patient’s well-being and, at the same time, conveys a tangible sense of care and humanity during the emergency response.

Quick Facts

System check

• Press the on/off button briefly
• Steady green light → Battery full
• Flashing green light → Battery charge between 75% and 35%
• Steady red light → Battery below 35% (no need to worry, there are still approximately 2 × 45 minutes remaining)
• Flashing red light → System faulty

Start

• Press the On/Off button for 2 seconds
• System starts in maximum heating mode (40 °C)
• Press again to adjust to 36 °C
• Press again to adjust to 32 °C

Operation

• Temperature is reached after 2–3 minutes
• Note: only when the patient is lying on the pad (retained heat)
• Temperature is monitored by sensors
• The system switches off automatically after 45 minutes

Battery runtime / charging time

• At -10 °C, approx. 3.5 hours’ runtime (for an average 75 kg patient) on the highest heat setting; correspondingly longer for heavier patients
• Charging time for a flat battery: approx. 3 hours at 220 V

Cleaning

• When the system is closed, it is water- and splash-proof
